More Cal & crew and, believe it or not, Trickster too!

Cal and the gang have been contracted for two more books, Cal 8 and 9 (I'm currently writing Cal 7). That means Cal 7 March 2012, Cal 8 March 2013, Cal 9 March 2014 (damn, that seems like a long ass time. Of course, this is assuming the Mayans weren't right...sooner or later *some* conspiracy has to be right. Come on! Y2K was so disappointing.)

And, to continue, *one* more Trickster Novel has been contracted (which means if you haven't been buying them...better bust your butt and scoop them up. Don't blow their last chance), but before the Trixa and Leo lovers, the Zeke fan club--he has one all to himself as he's such an entertaining sociopath, and the Zeke/ Griffin fans get too excited just yet...be patient. It won't be out until 2013. I can only write three books a year (actually *have* to write three books a year--a book every four months, people--to survive as a full time writer with questionable healthcare insurance) and I still have my main stream thriller to finish in between all this. So...go on! Let's rock on with our bad selves! More monster and demon/angel ass kicking for a few years to come!

Celebrate...good times, come on! Celebrate!

this is such awesome news, Rob! i am so pleased to hear this. i'm so totally behind on my reading as i just finished reading both Trick of the Light and The Grimrose Path and i LOVED them both! (a good friend sent me a gift card to B&N for my birthday and i spent nearly all of it on your books. i'm now still behind as i don't have Blackout. yet. it wasn't out when i got my books)

i nearly pissed myself reading the bits about Thor. the Scandinavian in me totally loves that part. totally. now all i need to do is read Talking Trash and i'll be mostly caught up.

i'm also working on convincing my friends to read your books. one is saying she wants to and will start with Cal and the gang when she has the money.

i'm so happy for you! this is really awesome news and i look forward to more good stuff from you.

I love *ALL* your books. All of the series. Anyone who hasn;t red them is missing out.

And the idea of writing a book in 4 months is mind-boggling. I am writing a book just for fun, not to publish... one to give certain friends as a present. And it has taken about a year so far. It's even *short*. how do you do it? No wonder you're so skinny. You have no time to eat.

I keep telling people about you and your talent, steering them your way. I know good stuff when I read it!

I'm so happy!
I would DIE if Cal's story was left to pitter off into nonexistance! D:
I would riot or something.

Hmm, so we might NOT see Cal 7? Assuming the world will end next year? Could you (or your publishers) be bribed into writing/releasing ALL of the books before the untimely end?
That way I could die happy...well, assuming I'd be happy at the end of my precious Cal and Niko stories...

So the publishers actually decide how many they want to publish based on sales?
I didn't realize that I guess.
Looks like we'll have to buy buy and buy more Trixa then.

I'd be happy to.
I'll need to find time to set some books off into the world.
I've been meaning to but the job pays craaap.
Plus, I work my ass off for said crap.
Therefore -
I have little time to read your works - now THAT'S messed up.
You can mess with my job description but you DO NOT take my reading time away.
That's cause for a tantrum (or to quit actually, that would be easier).
Just remember, no matter how hard being a writer is? It sucks a WHOLE LOT LESS than being a fast food cooker.
At least you bring imagination and stories to your customers.
I just make fat people fatter...

Oh well.
Time to celebrate!

About a week ago, I discovered the Cal Leandros series. I have just started book five, and I have a question. I realize you are probably too busy writing and having a life to answer me (which is as it should be) but I have to try. I've already dug around on the internet a bit but have not found an answer, my apologies if it has been asked and answered a million times already.

Do you not like George anymore? I know sometimes writers lose interest in their characters. It felt like you had more of a plan for George in the beginning (beyond being a love interest for Cal, who frankly never seemed to be that into her in my humble opinion), but she seems to have kind of petered out. I assumed you would be bringing her back at some point, because I feel like we haven't had much closure when it comes to her, but given the way Roadkill is shaping up, I now have my doubts. I'm only on page sixty, but she hasn't been mentioned at all, not when Cal talks about the people he cares about, or even when he refers to her kidnapping early on in the book. She doesn't even get a mention or picture on your website, which even Salome gets! It just feels like you've essentially dropped her. I trawled the Amazon.com reviews of both Roadkill and Blackout for mentions of her, and it would appear (though I could be wrong) that she is absent from book 6 as well. I like her, and I am sorry not to see her around anymore.

I can live without this info, obviously, but I am curious. I am interested in the process of writing, having written a "book" myself *COUGHtwilightfanficCOUGH*.

Anyway. Love the series. You write great characters. I love Cal and Niko's snark, and Robin...oh my God, Robin! His dialogue is some of the funniest I have read, ever. I just adore him. Looking forward to more!

Thanks for writing,

Recently (well a few months ago) I read a tweet of yours in which you asked for a poll, you wanted to know if anyone would care or not whether you killed Georgina "off screen" in your next novel.

I know I'm probably in the minority but I would mind.

Having said that, you made mention of the fact that you wouldn't kill her gruesomely or anything, you'd just kill her off. I'd actually rather her die a gruesome death "on screen" than die a quiet one "off screen".

Because I love George and if her character dies I want to be there WITH her when it happens. I want her death to have meaning. I don't want it to be because you're simply sick of her, or sick of people asking about her or whatever.

Because she DOES matter to me. And I would VERY much mind her going out quietly into that good night.

Anyway, whatever you decide to do with her character, at the end of the day she is YOUR character.

And at the end of the day I'll still be your fan. And I'll still love all your novels and all your characters.

I just...wanted you to know that even if Georgina's lost your love she still has mine.

It's awesome to hear about Trickster. Your characters are just so incredibly insane and lovable. I'm excited about the Leandros series. Can't wait!
